1. What This Policy Covers
This policy covers cookies and similar technologies used on the public SeaCras App. It should be read together with the SeaCras App Privacy Policy and any live cookie banner or preference center presented in the public app experience.
2. Types of Technologies
For simplicity, SeaCras uses the term "cookies" broadly in this policy to include browser cookies and similar technologies such as local storage, session identifiers, consent records, tags, pixels, and comparable browser-based technologies that store information on or access information from your device.
3. Consent and Legal Standards
Where European ePrivacy rules, the GDPR, UK privacy rules, or other consent-based laws apply, SeaCras intends to activate non-essential technologies in the public app only after obtaining the consent required by law.
- Strictly necessary technologies may be used without prior consent where they are genuinely required to operate the public app or provide a user-requested function.
- Optional analytics and similar non-essential technologies should not be activated until the relevant consent has been obtained where required.
- SeaCras does not treat continued browsing, silence, or pre-ticked controls as valid consent where consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous.
- Where consent is used, it should be as easy to refuse or withdraw as it is to accept.
4. Cookie Categories
| Category | Purpose | Typical Legal Basis | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Operate the app, maintain security, remember cookie choices, and support core public functionality. | Necessary for the operation of the app or legitimate interests where applicable. | Always active where genuinely necessary. |
| Analytics | Measure aggregate usage, feature reach, performance, route effectiveness, and interaction patterns so the public app can be improved. In the current public deployment, this category is implemented through Google Analytics 4. | Consent where required by law. | Activated only if you consent through the app banner or preference tool. |
| Partner-linked or embedded content | May arise where the public app includes partner-linked modules, external content, or other third-party technologies. | Consent where required, or your intentional interaction with that service where permitted by law. | Only applicable if such content is deployed in the relevant public app experience. |
5. Live Inventory and Preference Center
The exact technologies active at the time of your visit should be reflected in the app cookie banner, preference center, or equivalent implementation. Where such a preference center is provided, it forms part of this policy by identifying the active technologies for the relevant session or deployment.
In the current public implementation, SeaCras uses one strictly necessary first-party cookie named
cookie_consent_v2 to remember your analytics choice, policy version, and decision timestamp for
up to 180 days. If you accept analytics, SeaCras then loads Google Analytics 4 and related first-party
measurement cookies such as _ga, _ga_*, or _gid in line with Google's
current implementation.
SeaCras will use the live implementation to disclose, where applicable, the name of the technology, provider, purpose, category, and retention period or lifespan. If a partner-specific deployment adds materially different technologies, the relevant app notice and controls will also be updated.
6. Managing Choices
You can manage optional cookie categories using the cookie banner or preference center provided in the public app experience. You can also use browser controls to block or delete cookies, although some app functions or preference persistence may be affected.
If consent is the legal basis for a category, you may withdraw that consent at any time by revisiting the relevant preference controls. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing based on consent before withdrawal.
7. Partner and Campaign Contexts
Some public app experiences may be launched from partner QR codes, destination-specific links, or partner campaigns. Where a specific public app experience uses additional partner-specific technologies or embedded services, SeaCras expects that experience to disclose the relevant technologies in context and in the live preference controls.
8. Regional Notes
If you are in the EEA or UK, SeaCras intends this policy to work alongside applicable ePrivacy and data protection rules regarding prior consent for non-essential technologies. If Canadian or Quebec privacy law applies, this policy should be read with the corresponding app privacy notice as part of SeaCras's transparency regarding technological means.
If SeaCras later uses technologies through the public app that trigger U.S. state-law opt-out rights for sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or similar regulated activity, SeaCras will update the app notice and controls accordingly.
9. Updates
SeaCras may update this Cookie Policy to reflect technical, legal, or operational changes. The latest version will be published on this page with the updated revision date.
